Shri Tulsidas Khimji

Founder | Visionary Entrepreneur & Industry Pioneer

In 1895, Seth Tulsidas founded Tulsidas Khimji with little more than a desk in a reputed bank and a reputation built on trust, integrity, and unwavering commitment. What began as the supervision of cotton consignments soon evolved into a diversified logistics enterprise, expanding into customs clearance, sea transportation, warehousing, insurance, and the secure movement of bullion and precious cargo.

Widely respected by banks, British trading houses, and the maritime community, Shri Tulsidas Khimji became a trusted adviser, representing the interests of the trade before port authorities and shipping companies while advocating for the customs brokerage profession.

In 1938, he became the Founder President of the Clearing Agents Association, Bombay (now BCBA), serving until 1948 and helping shape the future of India's customs clearance industry through visionary leadership and dedicated service.

Shri Karsandas Tulsidas Khimji

Second Generation | Industry Statesman & Institution Builder

Building upon the vision of Founder Shri Tulsidas Khimji, Shri Karsandas Tulsidas Khimji further strengthened the family's legacy while playing a defining role in the advancement of India's customs brokerage and freight forwarding industry through visionary leadership, institutional contributions, and distinguished public service.

He served as President of the Clearing Agents Association, Bombay (now BCBA) from 1948 to 1963 and again from 1965 to 1966, playing a pivotal role in shaping the customs clearance industry during a transformative period. His contributions extended well beyond the Association, serving on the Bombay Port Advisory Committee, the Railway Sub-Committee of the Bombay Chamber of Commerce, the Export-Import Sub-Committee of the Indian Merchants' Chamber, and the Customs Advisory Committee, where he helped influence trade and logistics policy in India.

In 1962, Shri Karsandas became the Founder President of the Federation of Freight Forwarders' Associations in India (FFFAI). In recognition of his selfless leadership and decades of distinguished service, he was conferred the honour of President of Honour by the Federation. He was also among the founding members of the Air Cargo Agents Association of India (ACAAI) and was appointed by the Government of India to the Central Customs & Excise Advisory Council, reflecting his standing as one of the country's foremost leaders in customs brokerage and freight forwarding.

Shri Moolsinh Karsandas

Third Generation | Industry Leader & Air Cargo Advocate

Shri Moolsinh Karsandas, grandson of Founder Shri Tulsidas Khimji and son of Shri Karsandas, carried forward the family's legacy with a strong commitment to both business excellence and the advancement of India's logistics industry. Alongside his leadership at Tulsidas Khimji Pvt. Ltd., he played an active role in strengthening the country's freight forwarding and air cargo sector through dedicated service to leading industry associations. He served as Honorary Secretary General of the Air Cargo Agents Association of India (ACAAI) and contributed significantly to the Bombay Custom House Agents Association (now BCBA) and the Federation of Freight Forwarders' Associations in India (FFFAI). His efforts promoted professional collaboration, strengthened industry representation, and supported the organised growth of India's logistics ecosystem, further reinforcing TKPL's reputation as one of the country's most respected logistics organisations.

Late Shri Shantu K Bhatia

Third Generation | Business Leader & Industry Representative

Shri Shantu Bhatia, grandson of Founder Shri Tulsidas Khimji, combined academic excellence with visionary leadership during a period of continued growth for the company. A graduate of Bombay University with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from UCLA (California), he helped guide Tulsidas Khimji Pvt. Ltd. while actively contributing to the wider logistics profession. Beyond the business, he devoted considerable time to the Air Cargo Agents Association of India (ACAAI), the Bombay Custom House Agents Association (now BCBA) and the Federation of Freight Forwarders' Associations in India (FFFAI), supporting initiatives that strengthened India's freight forwarding and customs brokerage industry. He also served the community through the Lions Club of Bombay, reflecting the family's enduring belief that leadership extends beyond business to the advancement of both industry and society.

Late Shri Hemant M. Bhatia

Fourth Generation | Modernising TKPL & Advancing Industry Leadership

Shri Hemant M. Bhatia, son of Late Shri Moolsinh Karsandas , represents the fourth generation of leadership at Tulsidas Khimji Pvt. Ltd. Joining the family business in 1981, he combined a strong academic foundation with international exposure and professional training to guide the company through an increasingly globalised logistics landscape. A Commerce graduate from Narsee Monjee College of Commerce & Economics, he further enhanced his expertise through specialised training in Air Cargo with Crowe & Co. Ltd., Basel, Switzerland, while completing the prestigious IATA/FIATA Diploma, Dangerous Goods Regulations (DGR) certification, and advanced industry programmes conducted by IATA and leading airlines.

Continued the family's long-standing commitment to industry leadership. He served on the Managing Committee of the Air Cargo Club of Bombay (1998–2005), was elected Chairman of the Air Cargo Agents Association of India (ACAAI) – Western Region (2002–2004), subsequently served on the Managing Committee of ACAAI, and was elected Honorary Secretary General of ACAAI in 2007. Through these leadership roles, he actively contributed to strengthening India's air cargo and freight forwarding industry while helping expand TKPL's national presence and international network, reinforcing the company's position as one of India's most trusted logistics organisations.

Shri Rajen S. Bhatia

Fourth Generation | Driving Global Growth & Strategic Leadership

Shri Rajen S. Bhatia, son of Shri Shantu K. Bhatia and a fourth-generation leader of Tulsidas Khimji Pvt. Ltd., serves as the Managing Director of the company, leading its strategic direction, international partnerships, overseas business development and commercial expansion. Under his leadership, TKPL continues to strengthen its position as one of India's most trusted freight forwarding and customs brokerage companies while expanding its global presence and embracing new opportunities across the logistics landscape.

Joining the family business at a young age, he developed extensive expertise in sea freight, international logistics and business development. He has completed specialised programmes in Dangerous Goods Regulations (DGR) and Advanced Cargo Management, alongside executive education in Logistics Management from the Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad (IIM Ahmedabad), Customs Law, Taking Family Business to the Next Level: The Six Dimensions from the Indian Institute of Management Bangalore (IIM Bangalore), and Certified Corporate Directorship from the World Council for Corporate Governance, London.

Since September 2023, he is serving as Chairman of the Western Region of the Air Cargo Agents Association of India (ACCAI), actively contributing to the growth and development of India's air cargo and logistics industry through industry collaboration, policy engagement and leadership.
